Are you on Instagram? I’m falling a victim for Instagram addiction! I love that I can engage with followers, other food bloggers, and instagrammers! And the best thing is you can easily explore and discover new trends, and styles in cooking and food photography. One food featuring account stood to me! They have weekly theme, this week is for summer fruits, cherry, is one of them. Typically they are not on my mind or even in my fridge, but the photos were stunning and beautifully styled, I couldn’t but buy some right away!
I was looking for new untypical ways to eat them, not as a a snack which I dread, because I hate pitting! Tart pies and jams are so typical! How about creating a simple sandwich, healthy and indulgent too?
Cherries and chocolate is a sacred combo, but having them in sandwich is the easiest way possible, and they are so shockingly good! and guess what they taste even better the next day! Dark chocolate especially, fits the sweetness, and tartness taste in cherries. Always use high quality chocolate, because otherwise, the sandwich may not taste great as it is!
The other sandwich also called for a summer fruit which is apricot! Mixing fruits and cheese also can be typical, but with a drizzle of balsamic glaze and melting cheese like the Bulgarian one I love, called kashkval , it’s a semi-firm one, that has great tangy mild aged flavor! This type of cheese made from cow milk or sheep or both kinds. This cheese is so popular in middle east, that I can say I grow up eating it! If you never tried it, you should do that asap and you will be hooked forever! You can look for it in store sells European goods, and you can find it in middle eastern shops. This one would be one of the best online options for you.
